Teaching Financial Literacy to Teens: A Personal Journey

↓

You know, as the days breeze by, I find myself reminiscing about my past a lot more - especially about my journey from India to the bustling energy of the US. But, today, I want to talk about something very close to my heart – a recent episode with my daughter, Nicki.

Remember those days when our pocket money felt like a treasure, and we had to decide between that shiny toy and our favorite candy? Well, Nicki just got her first job (Yup, time flies!) and faced a similar dilemma. She came to me, trying to figure out how many hours she'd need to work to afford that chic jacket she'd been eyeing for weeks. That's when it hit me - how prepared are our kids to face the real world of money?

In our latest post, "Teaching Financial Literacy to Teens: A Personal Journey," I dive deep into this. It's not just another post; it's my heart poured out onto the page, brimming with personal anecdotes, real-life lessons, and of course, some amazing book recommendations that changed my outlook on finances. (Spoiler: "Die with Zero" is one of them!)

Here's a sneak peek: The lessons we pass on to our kids, the values we instill, and the financial understanding we impart – they aren't just lessons. They are legacies.

But before you go,

I have a question: How did you first learn about managing money?

Did your parents sit you down? Or did life's hard knocks do the teaching?

Hit reply and share your story. Let's embark on this journey of financial discovery together.

Till next time,

Jay & Family ❀️

P.S. Vivaan says hi, and he's currently mulling over whether to save up for that new game or invest in some stocks. (Kidding, or am I? πŸ˜‰)
